Here Are The Own Goal Scorers in European Cup History

Scoring goals in a big event like the European Cup is a big pride for a football player. However, if the goal scored is an own goal at the Euro, of course it will be a nightmare.

So, ahead of Euro 2020, which can only take place in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, launch from Bola.com, let's find out the history of who has scored an own goal in this four-year event.

There are only nine players who have made blunders by scoring an own goal in the European Cup. Who was the first to feel it?

Is a player from Rep. Ceska, Anton Ondrus. He scored in his own net at Euro 1976. Despite that, Rep. Ceska still won over the Netherlands with a score of 3-1.

After Anton Ondrus's moment, it took 20 years to see an own goal at the European Cup. The mastermind is Bulgarian player Lyuboslav Penev.

Because of an own goal, Bulgaria ran aground 1-3 from France. If you look at history there are some big names who have recorded own goals in the European Cup.

For example the England national team player, Glen Johnson. He made an own goal at Euro 2012. But England still managed to beat Sweden 3-2. Let's scroll down to see the nine players with own goals recorded in the European Cup.
